I've had servers with Rapidswitch for over 8 years and have watched as their service and support has slowly degraded. It used to be a good company but their response times and support quality has steadily got worse and worse. They show no concern if hardware has faults and nobody takes ownership of problems or attempts to fix their servers rapidly. Unfortunately I was left with very little confidence in their ability to actually run a hosting facility. We have switched to AWS which is actually working out cheaper with a much more resilient infrastructure.
Upon reviewing your account with us this review comes as a surprise. It seems to stem from a single event where you had a service failure recently, but prior to that we have seen no issues at all
Just under a month ago your server had a hardware failure and the service was offline. The ticket last raised prior to that was 9 months ago, and before that over a year ago. No dissatisfaction has been mentioned or raised prior to this event.
There are options and services that we offer that provide resilience but these were not chosen for this service. Upon investigation of the service being offline, multiple drives had failures and none had been raised to our team to swap out. As a result of the RAID array now being irrecoverable, there is little anyone could do to assist.
The team swapped the controller to see if the drives had any ability to reimport the config and rebuild but due to the fact multiple drives had failed, it was too late
I fully empathise with anyone suffering service failures but as a self-managed service provider we offer many ways of providing resilience against them and none were in place. I do not feel the negative review is accurate or representative of our service, but a vent of frustration at a situation that could have been avoided - if not by simply alerting the team to when the initial drive failures occurred (likely years ago) so the array could have been running on healthy drives
They have the best hardware in the UK. From the moment you sign up you will love how fast and reliable your hosting is. I've never had an issue with them.
If you're looking for the absolutely best, most reliable, highest end hosting in the UK, RapidSwitch is your best bet. They are expensive, there is no doubt about that. For me, it was well worth it. I run a business site and need the site up at all times. I have not had any trouble so far and don't expect to. If you want the best, I think you should give Rapidswitch a try.
